Let’s evaluate this unhealthy obsession everyday commoners have with celebrities. Despite the fact, Kim Kardashian was the, what some would label, talentless beauty that paved the way to her family’s stardom, she and all her moves are relentlessly relevant. But, why? At some point, it becomes a personal responsibility to no longer care or place priority on what she, or any other reality celebrity, does with their day. Be it a stroll through the park in skintight workout gear and designer shades; a quick trip to the nail salon; a vacation with her sisters or a sex tape … it’s all a photo op! And as long as you’re looking, they’re getting paid! But why are you looking?? Ah ha … ahaAa!
While everyday couples are happy to receive a Cuisinart, the New York Post revealed the Kardashian-Humphries wedding will rake in about $17.9 million from media coverage and freebies. According to a source, photo rights to the wedding were sold to People magazine for a whopping $2.5 million.
More money will be earned from the nuptials from a four-part TV special airing on E! in October called, “Kim’s Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event.” The event is expected to earn anywhere from $12 million to $15 million and will be produced by Ryan Seacrest.
Who just can’t get over the fact that this lady got paid more money than many small villages in Africa and Eastern Europe will see in generations? And why, oh, why does this take priority in any primetime time slot? It’s NOT news.
